
Following an intensive and competitive recruitment process, Scottish Surfing is delighted to announce the appointment of six new Directors to the Board to support the delivery of Scottish Surfing’s 2026-2029 Strategy.
The appointments strengthen the Board with skills that will help shape the future of Scottish Surfing, supporting the delivery of our strategic priorities while ensuring the sport continues to grow and develop.
Meet our new Directors:

Alan Bisseker – Performance Director
Alan joins the Board as Performance Director and Chair of the Performance Committee. With an outstanding background in Olympic, Paralympic and action sports, Alan brings extensive expertise in athlete development, talent pathways and high-performance programmes, as well as a strong understanding of surfing through his work with GB Surfing and Scottish Surfing.

Jane Lister – EDI Director (Women & Girls)
Jane joins as EDI Director and Chair of the Women & Girls Committee. Her background in governance, risk and organisational leadership is complemented by a genuine passion for inclusion, accessibility and community impact through her work with organisations including The Wave Project.

Dave Rhoney – EDI Director (Adaptive & Para)
Dave continues his commitment to Scottish Surfing as EDI Director and Chair of the Adaptive & Para Committee. Bringing extensive experience in inclusive sport, governance and disability sport, Dave will play a key role in ensuring surfing continues to become more accessible for everyone.

George Noble – General Director
George brings significant leadership and governance experience from across the commercial, public and voluntary sectors. A surfer for more than 30 years, he combines strategic expertise with a deep understanding of Scotland’s surfing community and culture.

Hannah Sharp – General Director
Hannah joins the Board with a strong background in communications, stakeholder engagement and community development. As both a coach and competitor, she offers valuable insight into Scottish surfing alongside her passion for widening participation and creating opportunities across the sport.

James Louter – General Director
James brings extensive commercial and strategic partnerships experience gained across national governing bodies, major sporting events and international consultancy. His expertise will help support the continued growth and long-term sustainability of Scottish Surfing.
