Splashing into the Basics
Today was an incredible day out on the Forth & Clyde Canal at Cadder Wharf! 30 young paddleboarders took to the water for an energetic, fun-filled session introducing them to the basics of Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) which is one of the disciplines of surfing.
Under the expert guidance and watchful eyes of instructors Mike and Arran, the kids quickly got their balance, learned essential stroke techniques, and built up their confidence on the boards.

Highlights of the Day
* Skill Building: Learning balance, posture, paddle control, and self-rescue techniques on calm canal waters.
* Fun & Games: The session wasn’t just about technique—Mike and Arran kept energy levels high with interactive team games, balance challenges, and plenty of splashy fun.
* Community Spirit: Watching dozens of kids enjoy the outdoors, laugh, and gain new outdoor skills together right in Bishopbriggs.
A massive thank you to Scottish Surfing for their generous support and collaboration.
Partnerships like this make it possible to run these session entirely free of charge, giving local children a fantastic opportunity to try out water sports, stay active, and make brilliant memories on the water.
Here’s to many more splash-tastic days ahead!
