Scottish Surfing is stoked to share our Draft Strategy for 2026–2029, which is now open for consultation with clubs, members and the wider Scottish surfing community.
Our draft strategy sets out our proposed vision, priorities and strategic themes for the next three years, guided by our purpose of positively impacting lives through surfing. Before it is finalised, we want to make sure it reflects the real needs, aspirations and experiences of surfers and clubs across Scotland.
Why your voice matters
Scottish Surfing exists to serve its community. From protecting our waves and waters, to supporting clubs, developing people and pathways, and helping Scottish surfers thrive on the world stage, the decisions we make over the next few years will shape the future of surfing in Scotland.
That’s why this consultation is so important. Your feedback will help ensure the strategy is relevant, inclusive and grounded in reality, whether you’re a club volunteer, recreational surfer, coach, competitor or supporter of the sport.
What’s in the draft strategy?
The draft outlines our proposed direction across key strategic themes including:
- Protection of our waves, waters and coastal environments
- Places and sustainable surfing communities across Scotland
- People, wellbeing and inclusion in surfing
- Pathways for athletes, coaches, judges and volunteers
- Performance on the national and international stage
- Partnerships that strengthen impact and delivery
- Profile, communications and governance
Together, these themes aim to support surfing for life — from first wave to high performance and lifelong involvement.
